Pacific Coast Reforestation

The core business of Maderas Sostenibles includes the reforestation and management of spent pastureland in the Pacific coast region of Nicaragua. The Company's business model includes both purchasing spent pastureland and partnering with landowners. The land is planted with suitable hardwood and managed during a growth cycle of 12-25 years. To promote biodiversity, we leave existing secondary forest and ecologically valuable single trees standing including fruit and flowering trees that serve as the basic diet of many species of animals. First commercial thinning takes place when the trees are between 7 and 14 years old. Final harvesting, from which the Company will derive its main revenue, is scheduled for when the trees reach the age range of 16-25 years.
